About Johnny
Johnny Weixler started at CommuniCare+OLE in 2021. He received his Master of Science in Nursing in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specialty from Vanderbilt University in 2021. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Drexel University and his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Regent University. Prior to coming to CommuniCare+OLE, Johnny worked as a Registered Nurse in emergency, trauma, and psychiatric settings. He specializes in mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, schizophrenia, and substance use disorders and has experience working with refugees, veterans, LGBTQ+ individuals, and persons experiencing homelessness.
My approach to care
My care philosophy is centered on partnering with patients to help them find relief from suffering and achieve their own wellness goals, to be a resource on their journeys toward wholeness and joy in their lives and relationships. Seeking mental health care can be a daunting experience, so my approach is to listen carefully to my patients, be transparent with the treatment process, and offer clear information so patients can make informed choices. I aim to offer treatment options that are holistic, grounded in the latest neuroscience, and carefully tailored to the individual needs of my patients.
Why I went into healthcare
I became a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner because of my belief in the worthiness of every person and my desire to contribute to the wellbeing of others.
