My approach to care
My approach to care is that we are collaborators in figuring out what is not working and looking for options and strategies for a better quality of life. Life can be hard, and there are things that make it worth living or can be built so that the future has those good moments and quality connections.
Why I went into healthcare
I became a therapist because from a young age I was taught the importance and fundamental worthiness of each life. As I grew, I realized that much of that value is best expressed in connections and relationships, and wanted to focus and work in that area. However, this was so broad I still didn’t know what I wanted to do. I became a social work major somewhat by accident and found that I loved the perspective and way of connecting with and supporting others. Since I began practicing as a therapist, I have had the sense that it is exactly what I want to do.
Something you might not know about me
I grew up vegetarian and spent the first 9 years of my life in Costa Rica.
