PAY RANGE:                        $69,222.40 to $84,614.40 annually

JOB SUMMARY: The CPSP Supervisor is responsible for supervising and enhancing the quality of the health education and CPSP services provided to pregnant and recently postpartum patients seen in CCOLE’s perinatal departments.   The CPSP Supervisor works closely with   perinatal department leadership, under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, to provide programmatic support and enhance the quality of perinatal services provided to CCOLE patients .

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  1. Bachelor’s degree required.
  2. Master’s degree in a health-related field (e.g. Community or Health Education, Public Health, Maternal Child Health, Social Work) preferred.
  3. At least on year of experience working with pregnant people in a clinical setting required.
  4. Administrative and supervisory experience preferred.
  5. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

KNOWLEDGE OF WORK

1. Demonstrated knowledge of local health care delivery system.
2. Experience in prenatal and postpartum care

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Travel to clinic sites throughout assigned service area.
2. Hire, supervise, and evaluate Comprehensive Perinatal Health Workers (CPHWs).  Ensure staff competency and adherence to CPSP guidelines.  Ensure appropriate staffing of Comprehensive Perinatal Health Workers (CPHWs)to accommodate patient needs. Facilitate professional development of Comprehensive Perinatal Health Workers (CPHWs).
3. Manage monthly clinic schedule for Comprehensive Perinatal Health Workers (CPHWs) patient visits, CPSP provider patient visits (MSW, RD, Lactation and Perinatal RNs), and perinatal patient group and individual classes.     Schedule management involves entering the schedule into the EHR, finding coverage for employee absences/vacations, and monitoring for needed adjustments based on patient census and staffing.
4. Manage and maintain CCHC CPSP Program including adherence to current CPSP Guidelines and Steps to Take educational materials.  Review and update CCHC CPSP Protocols annually.     Communicate with the managed care plans regarding staffing, protocol, and programmatic changes and assist with their biannual CCHC CPSP site review.
5. Perform monthly chart audits for Quality Improvement (QI) to ensure proper documentation, care plan development and adherence to protocols by Health Educators. May perform monthly Partnership QI. Monitor Comprehensive Perinatal Health Workers (CPHWs) appointment reports to ensure patient compliance to trimester and postpartum reassessment visits and class attendance.
6. Fill in for Comprehensive Perinatal Health Workers (CPHWs) appointments and classes as needed for vacation and sick coverage.
7. Maintain car seat program (through dept budget and/or grant funding) and Comprehensive Perinatal Health Workers (CPHWs) trainings as car seat technicians.  Attend Car seat coalition meetings for assigned service areas.  Ensure CCOLE participation in county car seat events.
9. Work closely with community partners from governmental, non-profit, and other community-based organizations to promote CCOLE perinatal services and collaborate on projects to benefit CCOLE perinatal patients and pregnant persons across service areas.
10. Develop perinatal health education class curriculum including class outlines, patient educational materials, and pre- and post-tests.  Maintain patient attendance records for Medi-Cal and CPSP review.
11. Conduct monthly Health Education and CPSP team meetings and assist staff in attending periodic trainings to maintain quality up-to-date services and health education.     Perform patient surveys, as needed, to assess community needs and interests.
12. Lead in the development and maintenance of Group Prenatal Care, when conditions allow this model of care to restart, at the three prenatal clinic sites. Responsibilities include staff training, class content, patient flow, staffing, billing, scheduling, and sustainability.
13. Ensure accurate and timely documentation and billing of CPSP services. Investigate any errors or concerns and provide timely corrections or staff trainings.
14. Attend monthly perinatal billing meetings, regular meetings with perinatal department leadership, site manager meetings, space management meetings, County CPSP Round Table meetings, local coalition meetings (as applicable) and any other meetings as needed.
15. Communicate effectively with Medi-Cal, Partnership and other insurers to assist patients with obtaining health care coverage and problem-solving insurance issues as needed.
16. Act as liaison to OB providers and/or local birthing hospitals as needed to ensure smooth patient transfer processes.
