PAY RANGE: $67,683.20 to $75,400.00 annually

JOB SUMMARY: The Access Supervisor works under the direction of the Health Center Manager to maintain cohesiveness of the Medical clinic’s front office operations and to provide quality customer service to patients. This person is responsible for oversight of Front Office staff. They assist reception staff in education patients about the various health care coverage programs made available to clients seeking medical services at the clinic.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- BA/BS degree or one year experience in a medical office, hospital or clinic.
- Supervisory or customer experience in a medical office, hospital or clinic preferred
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
- Computer word processing experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.
- Must provide proof of current driver’s license and auto insurance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. | Responsible for ensuring quality customer service for patients and the day-to-day supervision of the reception staff. Responsible for scheduling staff and shift coverage to assure reception and administrative duties are adequately supported. Provide reception coverage during staff shortages. |
2. | Recruit, train and evaluate job performance of the reception team members. |
3. | Assist the staff with registration and appointment systems including reminder calls and missed appointments. Oversee staff on procedures in making appointments. Help staff with scheduling problems, patient waiting time, and other areas of concern to increase efficient services. |
4. | Oversee systems to verify patient eligibility for Medi-Cal, Healthy Family, county MIA, and other programs. Review and educate patients about eligibility processes. Act as resource for staff on third party payors/ Provide patient and staff education on eligibility for special programs including BCEDP, SOFP, CHDP, etc. |
5. | Support reception staff with patient concerns and problems. Assist with systems of communication between reception and back office staff. Oversee clinic functions with Clinic Manager is off site. |
6. | Ensure the waiting room and reception areas are maintained in such a manner to ensure the comfort and safety of our clients, visitors and staff. |
7. | Oversee specialty clinic schedules including but not limited to: Optometry, Dermatology, Pediatrics and Orthopedics. |
8. | Other duties as assigned. |
